As an Associate Director of Research Program Development and a member of the Arete team, Sarah focuses on federal initiatives and projects.
Prior to joining the University, Sarah was a staff scientist at Argonne National Laboratory. She conducted basic research on how belowground factors impact the carbon balance in terrestrial ecosystems, which has implications for climate change forecasts. More recently, she developed a novel approach for imaging bacteria in soils using x-ray tomography and nanoparticle sensors.
Sarah earned her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her B.S. in Environmental Science at Bradley University.
